Gabi Epstein
Guest Vocalist
Hailed “Canada’s Queen of Cabaret” by CTV, Gabi is a multi-award winning singer, actor, and recording artist and one of the country's most sought after performers best known for playing Fanny Brice in various productions of Funny Girl and Audrey in the Stratford Festival's production of Little Shop of Horrors.
With a professional career spanning over 20 years, some highlights include starring in the Tony Award winning musical Once at the Ed Mirvish Theatre, performing in Billy Elliot on the Stratford Festival Theatre stage with a 45 piece orchestra, singing the role of Eponine in Les Miserables: In Concert with orchestra, playing Fruma-Sarah in the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene’s Canadian remount of the off-Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof in Yiddish at the Elgin Theatre directed by legendary Joel Grey, starring in the Canadian Premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber's award-winning one-woman show Tell me on a Sunday, performing for musical legends Alan Menken, Steven Schwartz, and Marc Shaiman on various occasions, and performing more concerts than she can count across North America at venues such as Koerner Hall, Roy Thompson Hall, the Jane Mallet Theatre, The Meridian Arts Centre, The Jazz Bistro, and Don’t Tell Mama in NYC where her show was named “Best Cabaret of the Year” by the Times Square Chronicles.
Some of her other favourite stage roles include The Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods (opposite Corner Gas star Eric Peterson) and Countess Charlotte in A Little Night Music (opposite Will and Grace star Eric McCormack).
Gabi has two studio albums - Show Off (released in 2010) and Gabs Sings Babs - a love letter to Barbra Streisand (released in 2022). The latter was turned into a solo-show (also called Gabs Sings Babs) where Gabi, often referred to as "Canada's Barbra Streisand" questions why she can't simply be known as "Canada's Gabi Epstein". Using reimagined new arrangements of Streisand's most iconic hits, Gabi goes on a journey to rediscover the "Gabs" in all of the "Babs". Her show has been performed to sold-out audiences all over Canada.
